Haileybury’s Curious Minds program offers a rich array of activities designed to cater to a diverse range of student interests and passions.
This dynamic program provides students from Prep – Year 12 with a variety of innovative and challenging academic extension opportunities including the $20 Boss Entrepreneurship program, our unique Haileybury Hive Beekeeping program, UN Security Council simulations such as Model United Nations and the Evatt Competition, and for our technology enthusiasts Digitech Explorers, Drone Academy and eSports.
Students can also engage in exciting competitions like Tournament of Minds, Future Problem Solving, Big Science, Debating and the Human Powered Vehicle Energy Breakthrough.
Each activity is thoughtfully themed around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) and LEAP (Literature, Entrepreneurship, Arts & Politics) to provide students with a deepened understanding of these fields and to better prepare them for their future academic and career pursuits.
Communication and expression

Activities like Debating, Public Speaking, EVATT, and Model United Nations allow students to articulate their ideas, engage in constructive discourse, and develop their communication skills. Senior students can further enhance their argumentative and presentation skills through programs like Mooting and Mock Trials, which prepare them for careers in law, politics, and advocacy. Students can also explore creative expression through Art, Drama Club, Dance, Aerobics, and Poetry Competitions.
Leadership and personal development
Curious Minds is designed to help students build leadership and personal development skills. Programs like the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Compass provide students with real-world experiences that promote resilience, decision-making, and self-confidence. Students in Curious Minds also engage with global issues and social justice through programs such as Model United Nations, EVATT, the Ethics Olympiad, and UN Voice of Youth.
