Balancing academic focus with personal pursuit
Haileybury delivers excellent academic results year on year due to hard work and application by our students throughout the school year. We balance our academic focus with sport, music, performances, competitions and community initiatives that allow each student to celebrate their individual interests and talents whilst developing self-worth and confidence.
Something for every student
Haileybury’s co-curricular program is part of the prescribed classroom program and caters for every student and offers a vast range of sports, arts, music, drama and dance.
Students from Junior School onwards can build on their existing interests, develop their skills and find new avenues to explore. Availability will depend on a student’s year level and each campus also has its own areas of focus.
Sport
Sport is a central part of life at Haileybury and an important avenue for developing social connections, resilience and wellbeing. Defined sporting activities are available to Middle School to Senior School students, while ELC and Junior School students participate in Physical Education lessons.
Interschool sport with other Associated Public Schools (APS) is played from Years 5–12 for boys and with the combined Associated Public Schools and Associated Grammar Schools Victoria (AGSV) for girls. All students participate in intra-school House sports and interschool sports from Years 5-12.
Summer sports include Badminton, Cricket, Golf, Squash, Tennis, Triathlon and Volleyball, and during winter students can choose from an extensive program that includes Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Netball, Soccer and Rugby. Spring sports include Athletics and Water Polo.
Music and The Arts
Haileybury has a long history of excellence in the Performing Arts and we continue to build on that history through our ensemble program, renowned Pipes & Drums band and diverse range of theatrical productions.
Students can choose from: Orchestras, Wind Bands, Choirs, Dance, Drama Plays, Musical Theatre Productions, Visual Arts Experiences, Pipes & Drums, Stage Band, Chamber Ensembles and Jazz Combos.
