Haileybury’s Private Bus Services for students

Haileybury provides an extensive network of private bus services that support students travelling to the Keysborough and Berwick campuses. Please note, transport to attend school at our Brighton and City campuses is supported by public transport routes by Public Transport Victoria (PTV).

Haileybury Private Bus Services

Haileybury’s Private Bus Services are contracted directly by the School, and supplement the public transport network servicing our campuses and dedicated PTV school services servicing our Keysborough campus.

About Haileybury Private Bus Services

To utilise the Haileybury Private Bus Services, all students must purchase a Haileybury bus pass. Student cards are issued to all students and used as the student bus pass to tap on/off the bus.

Standard eligibility for use of Haileybury’s Private buses is Middle School and Senior School only (Years 5 to 12). Junior School students in Years 3 and 4 may be allowed to use Haileybury Private services where they are supervised by an older sibling. This must be approved in writing by the Head of Campus and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Why choose to use a Private Bus Service?

  • Students are ensured a seat on their chosen bus route to and/or from school
  • When tapping on and off the bus, student’s safe movement on the bus can be viewed by the School
  • Ensuring every student arrives safely, on time, every day.
  • Providing safe, seamless travel for every student.
  • Supporting Haileybury families with dependable daily transport.
  • Because every child’s journey matters.

Note: Haileybury conducts regular audits and reconciliations of its Private Routes passenger manifests to ensure that all students can travel on their chosen routes.

Using Public Transport (PTV Bus Dedicated School Services)

From 1 January 2026, students under 18 years of age can travel for free on public transport. Students using these services are required to hold a Youth Myki card and will still be required to tap on and off Myki terminals when boarding and alighting the bus. Once a student turns 18, they may be eligible for a Victorian Student Pass or concession ticket. More information about the youth myki card will be available on the myki types webpage.

Note: Haileybury has no control over the operation of these services including designated routes, timetables or the availability of seats. Dedicated PTV school services to and from Haileybury include only one bus per route and if seating and standing capacity is exceeded, students will not be able to board the bus and will be required to make other transport arrangements to or from school.
