Christopher, fifteen years old, is an extraordinary thinker. He’s exceptional at maths, has a wonderful imagination and observes things nobody else sees.
Everyday life can be a challenge for him. Christopher lives with his father, Ed and shares a close bond with his teacher Siobhan, who encourages him to keep a written journal of his thoughts and activities, which they read aloud together as the play progresses.
The production begins with Christopher standing with Mrs Shears’ dog, Wellington, lying dead at his feet, a garden fork sticking out of it. Christopher knows he did not do it and is determined to find out who murdered Wellington. Christopher’s detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that turns his world upside-down.
