$20 Boss

The $20 Boss program develops students entrepreneurial mindset and financial literacy. Students are provided $20 as startup capital to build a business for good and trade to raise money for a chosen charity. Students learn about basic business principles, financial management, teamwork and the design thinking process.

Australian Geography Competition

The Australian Geography Competition challenges students' knowledge and understanding of physical and human geography. Participants engage with complex geographical concepts and test their skills in problem-solving and critical thinking. This competition encourages students to explore the world around them, understand global issues, and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment and its interconnections.

Bar and Barista Program

The Bar and Barista Program equips students with practical vocational skills and accreditations in hospitality. Participants learn the art of coffee-making, customer service, and the essentials of running a café. Through hands-on training, students gain valuable qualifications, such as their RSA, that can help them develop confidence, entrepreneurial skills, and a strong work ethic in the fast-paced hospitality industry.

Compass

The Compass Award encourages students to develop essential life skills through hands-on activities that promote independence, teamwork, and personal growth. Students engage in challenges that focus on leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving. Compass helps students build resilience and a sense of responsibility, preparing them for future success in both academic and personal pursuits.

Chess

The Chess Club offers students the opportunity to develop their strategy, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By participating in regular competitions and practice sessions, students sharpen their ability to think ahead, plan strategically, and make decisions under pressure. Chess fosters patience, concentration, and logical reasoning.

Chinese Debating Society

The Chinese Debating Society offers students an exciting opportunity to sharpen their critical thinking and public speaking skills in a new language. Participants engage in structured debates on various topics, enhancing their proficiency in Chinese language while developing the ability to argue persuasively, think analytically, and collaborate with peers in an intellectually stimulating environment.

Da Vinci Decathlon

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition that challenges students to think critically and creatively across multiple disciplines, including mathematics, science, literature, and art. Teams of students work together to solve complex problems, requiring collaboration, innovation, and intellectual rigor. Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award encourages personal development and resilience through a series of challenges and service-based activities. Debating

Debating is a powerful tool for developing communication, reasoning, and public speaking skills. Digitech Explorers

Environment Club

The Environment Club provides students with the opportunity to explore environmental issues and contribute to sustainability efforts within the school and the community. Through activities like tree planting, recycling initiatives, and awareness campaigns, students develop a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship and the importance of protecting the planet.

Ethics Olympiad

The Ethics Olympiad is a competition that challenges students to engage with ethical dilemmas and discuss moral questions in a structured and respectful environment. Evatt Competition

The Evatt Competition is a prestigious mock United Nations event where students represent countries and negotiate solutions to global issues. Future Problem Solving

The Future Problem Solving program encourages students to think critically and creatively about real-world challenges. Global Issues

The Global Issues program explores contemporary global challenges such as poverty, conflict, and climate change. Students investigate these issues through research, discussions, and presentations, developing a deeper understanding of international relations and the impact of global events on local communities.

Haileybury Hive

The Haileybury Hive is a unique beekeeping program that blends environmental stewardship with entrepreneurship and innovation. Students learn about bees, beekeeping practices, and their importance in our ecosystem.

The Heritage and Archives program allows students to engage with history through the preservation and study of historical records and artifacts. Maths Talent Quest

The Maths Talent Quest provides students with an opportunity to engage in open-ended, problem-based learning in mathematics. By solving complex, real-world problems, students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and hone their analytical and creative thinking skills.

Maths Competitions

Students are invited to participate in various maths competitions such as the Maths Olympiad and Australian Maths Trust competition, that focus on problem-solving, logic, and mathematical reasoning, helping them build confidence and critical thinking abilities.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation where students role-play as diplomats representing various countries to debate and negotiate global issues. MUN fosters skills in public speaking, negotiation, research, and diplomacy while offering students a deeper understanding of international relations and global governance.

Mooting

Mooting is a mock courtroom competition that allows students to practice legal arguments and develop their advocacy skills. Through preparing and presenting cases, students learn how to research legal precedents, build arguments, and speak persuasively, gaining valuable skills for future careers in law and advocacy.

National History Challenge

OutLoud Poetry Competition

Premiers Reading Challenge

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee

The Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee is a national competition where students showcase their spelling prowess by competing against peers from across the country. Participation helps students develop their spelling, vocabulary, and language skills, while promoting a passion for language and literacy.

Public Speaking provides students with the opportunity to develop their verbal communication skills and confidence in front of an audience. Radio Club

The Tournament of Minds is an inter-school competition that challenges students to solve complex problems using creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. UN Voice of Youth

The UN Voice of Youth is a platform for students to engage with global issues and become advocates for positive change. Students participate in a mock United Nations simulation where they represent their countries and propose solutions to pressing global challenges, developing their diplomatic and leadership skills.

The UNSW ICAS English competition allows students to demonstrate their proficiency in English language and literacy skills. Students tackle a range of challenges designed to test their reading comprehension, writing, and grammar skills, while enhancing their overall language abilities.

The UNSW ICAS Spelling competition tests students' spelling skills by challenging them with progressively difficult words. Participants sharpen their vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and linguistic knowledge, fostering a deeper understanding of language and its nuances.

UNSW ICAS Writing

The UNSW ICAS Writing competition gives students the opportunity to showcase their writing skills in a structured competition. Students complete tasks that test their creativity, language proficiency, and ability to express ideas clearly and effectively, helping them to refine their writing abilities.
