Do all campuses offer the same curriculum?

Yes, all campuses offer the same core curriculum, ensuring that students receive a consistent educational experience across the school. However, there may be some campus-specific programs.

Can I enrol at one campus and transfer to another later?

Transfers between campuses are generally unlikely and can only be applied for after a student has been attending the school for two years. Each campus operates independently in terms of student placements, and availability may be limited. Additional conditions apply and we recommend contacting our admissions team for more details.

If one child is enrolled, will their sibling automatically be accepted?

Each campus has waitlists for each year of entry and year level that are ordered is based on the date of application, with priority applied to siblings of current students and children of Old Haileyburians. Sibling priority is only provided after a student has been confirmed, and there is no guarantee that we will be able to enrol multiple siblings at the same time.

Does the school offer Early Learning Centre (ELC) through to Year 12 at all campuses?

Yes, ELC* – Year 12 is offered across all campuses.

ELC at the Keysborough and City campuses are long day care centres providing care for 50 weeks of the year. ELC at Berwick and Brighton operates in the school terms, providing care for 38 weeks of the year.

Are there spots reserved for expat families?

Haileybury has a limited number of international student positions (Student visa, Subclass 500) available for entry into Year 10 at our Keysborough campus. International students are not eligible to attend Haileybury’s Berwick, Brighton, or City campuses. Haileybury does not accept enrolments from students holding a Visitor visa (Subclass 600).

Are there waitlists for all year levels across campuses?

Yes, all year levels are waitlisted across all campuses. From Year 5 when the Parallel Education Model commences, waitlists for boys and girls are separate.

Does my application apply to any campus?

No, your application is specific to the campus you apply for. You can change the campus that you are applying for, and the original date of application will apply for this change.

Is it easier to get into one campus over another?

Each campus has different waitlists, years of intake, and availability depending on the year level. It is not necessarily easier to get into one campus over another, but demand may vary.

Does having a cousin enrolled improve my chances of admission?

No, having a cousin at the school does not affect your child's position on the waitlist or give them priority for admission. Each campus waitlist order is based on the date of application, with priority applied to siblings of current students and children of Old Haileyburians.

If I donate or offer money to the school, will my child’s application be prioritized?

Donations do not, and will not, affect your child's application or placement on the waitlist. All applications are considered fairly based on availability and waitlist status.

Will having an older child on the waitlist help my younger children?

No, each child's application is considered independently. The position of an older sibling on the waitlist does not provide priority for younger children.

When applying for a scholarship, can my child be considered for any campus?

Scholarships are specific to the campus for which you apply. Once you have completed a scholarship application, you cannot change the campus for which it is considered. Scholarships are offered for a campus, and if a scholarship is awarded, it is expected that the student will remain at that campus for the duration of the scholarship offers.

What are the intake years?

  • Berwick: Reception, Year 5 and Year 10
  • Brighton: Reception, Prep, Year 5 and Year 10
  • City & Keysborough: Reception, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 10

Enrolments into non-intake years may occur and will be conducted based on waitlist order.

If my child exits the school, can they return automatically?

No, if a child exits the school, they must request to rejoin the waitlist and normal waitlist, and enrolment conditions apply. There is no guarantee of re-enrolment.

Can I cancel my enrolment, and have it considered for another entry year?

Yes, you can cancel your enrolment however enrolment fees are non-refundable. Enrolments are for a specific campus, year level and entry year and you cannot request that the enrolment be changed to another entry year, year level or for another campus.

Is it easier for girls to get into the school than boys?

No, admission is based on availability and the waitlist status for each year level.

Gender does not influence a student’s entry into the school. From Year 5 when the Parallel Education Model commences, the number of enrolments into each gender stream is limited and enrolments will be conducted based on waitlist order and gender.
