General: Mr Herman is a collaborative leader who harnesses the talents of diverse stakeholders to deliver outstanding results. For over 30 years he has been involved in providing advice on improving performance to Boards, executives, and owners of private, public and not-for-profit organisations. He has specific expertise in finance, accounting, tax, governance, merger and acquisition integration and digital transformation.
Academic: Mr Herman graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting, then completed his CPA and is currently a Fellow CPA. He has undertaken numerous employer-sponsored development programs including the Senior Leadership Program at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Career and professional activities: Mr Herman has been a partner in global and national professional service firms for over 21 years holding numerous leadership positions and had the privilege to support local, national and international businesses find strategic solutions to improve business performance. Ian also played AFL for Carlton and Richmond.
Board experience: Mr Herman’s board level experience includes being Director and Chairman at Cybec Foundation for over 20 years, Non-Executive Director at ATC Williams, Director at Grant Thornton Australia Ltd, Council Member of the AFL Players Association and President of the OHA.
Connection to Haileybury: Mr Herman is a former student of the School, former Captain of the First XVIII premiership football team and former member and President of the OHA.
